Examine your personal values about abstinence, identify the positive and negative abstinence messages youth hear, and practice turning negative sexual health messages into positive ones. 

Develop fun and engaging presentations on the fundamentals of anatomy and puberty. We help you make it inclusive, culturally-relevant, and responsive to where your young people are now.

Increase your knowledge of the latest sexual and reproductive health practices and research. Participants will learn more about data and trends in adolescent sexual health, explore self-disclosure and professional boundaries, and practice answering tough questions.

Participants review pregnancy, birth, and STI statistics; trends in adolescent pregnancy and sexual behaviors; basics of adolescent growth and development; risk and protective factors associated with adolescent pregnancy; and prevention strategies that work. 

The Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) is now partnering with Answer to offer a certificate in Adolescent Sex Education Basics. This fully online, 50-hour, non-credit certificate includes eight dynamic and highly interactive workshops and four cutting-edge virtual classroom simulations. 

SIECUS: Sex Ed for Social Change has provided trainings to thousands of individuals and nonprofit organizations across the country.  SIECUS’ policy team is uniquely positioned to offer trainings for all types of policy activity and engagement at all levels of government–federal, state, and local. Our trainings our developed to enhance participant understanding of influencing public policy, learn what it takes to engage in effective advocacy, and strategically mobilize to advance sex education laws and policy.

In this training, participants will: 

Long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) methods have the potential to significantly reduce unintended pregnancy among young people. However, misconceptions related to LARC methods and their use by adolescents has prevented young people from receiving adequate information about LARCs. In this training, facilitators use learner-centered, interactive techniques to discuss the rationale and research base for providing LARC information to young people.

New to teaching sexual and reproductive health education? Need a refresher? This highly interactive training prepares participants to teach sexual and reproductive health topics to youth. Participants discover new ways to engage youth in learning about anatomy, physiology, contraception and sexually transmitted infections. They also explore how values influence teaching of sensitive topics and practice answering common student questions.
